Season Opening at Tojo Theater Reitschule Bern

Pointless unfolds as a journey through the emotional states of a young generation. Pension insecurity, climate change, housing shortages, and war form the work’s social backdrop. Sound and physicality serve as its primary instruments, carrying emotion with raw immediacy. On stage, four Krump dancers perform alongside a choir and a sound artist as equal counterparts. Inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre’s notion that “true optimism begins with hopelessness”, the piece embraces despair without resignation. Emotional states are laid bare and Krump’s revolutionary force channels fear, pressure, and resistance into movement. Pointless becomes a search for hope, connection and endurance.
